Shane Cowan

Veterinarian, B.Sc., DVM, ND

Dr. Cowan started his educational journey receiving a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Concordia in 2000. His passion for holistic medicine led him to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, which he graduated from in 2006, as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. In 2010, taking the opportunity to follow his original career dreams and goals, Dr. Cowan went back to school to pursue veterinary medicine, attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completing his clinical training at the Purdue Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Graduating with a DVM in January of 2014.

Dr. Cowan has a strong background in holistic medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, with an emphasis in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs. This helps round out his holistic background with interest in Homeopathy and Orthomolecular Medicine. Dr. Cowan lives with his four rescued cats, Seven of Nine Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix 01 (Seven); Captain Janeway; Dr. Beverly Crusher (Crusher); Mista Kitty and Hank (Beast), his rescued malamute/pyrenees. In his off-time, he enjoys world travel, snowboarding, SCUBA, camping, and snowshoeing with Hank.
